The Construction and Engineering Division of Design Group in conjunction with our client, a highly reputable railwork's contractor involved with track, signals and communication, transit construction and maintenance is searching for an experienced Project Manager based in Calgary, ABReporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will manage construction projects including executing plans, meeting with clients, organizing, budgeting, and cost reporting. You are also responsible to assisting in meeting project requirements and controlling costs by coordinating and effectively utilizing all of the resources needed on each project. Responsibilities: Assists in assessing scope of work and resources required to successfully complete the project.Assists in verifying estimates based on detailed review of proposal specifications.Supervises and coordinates on-site project activities and provides day to day direction of on-site staff. Ensures that the project is executed in accordance with designs, budgets and schedules; takes appropriate action to minimize the impact of deviations.Resolves problems that may arise during project execution, escalation complex issues to project manager for approval.Monitors the efficient use of materials and equipment and the contractual performance of the project; works with project staff to ensure that assigned duties and responsibility are performed per agreed upon expectations.Ensures that quality, productivity and safety standards are met.Attends project and customer meetings and ensures that action items and decisions are documented appropriately for the parties and the project file.Administers financial tracking systems to monitor project costs and estimates.Performs other related administrative or project based duties as assigned.Requirements: Completion of a relevant post secondary degree or diploma program such as Construction, Engineering or Project Management.
